God Gave Me You

So I've had the Blake Shelton song, "God Gave Me You," stuck in my head the past few days and I was singing it while cleaning up after lunch today. Brogan asked me what I was singing and I told him the name of the song.

Then I asked him, "Did you know that God gave me you?" In his three-year-old voice of disbelief he answered, "Nooo." As if I were just being silly. So I said, "No, really, Buddy. You were a present to Mommy from God."

What happened next was priceless.

Brogan's face lit up and he looked up toward Heaven and said, in his most sincere tone, "Thank you, God, for giving me to Mommy." My heart melted right there on the kitchen counter. I know I've said it before but, he is such a sweet little guy. I love, love, love that kid.

Thank you, God, for Brogan.

so, so, so sweet! When I was leaving for work the other day Sammi said, "mommy I don't want you to work anymore, I want you to stay here with me because I love you so much and you have my heart!" I cried all the way to the train station.

Wow! What a sweetheart! (And how heart-wrenching for Mommy.) It's just amazing how loving they can be when you least expect it, isn't it, Jen???
